House Expected to Vote On Holder Contempt Charge This is turning out to be a big week in Washington DC. Not only do we have the Supreme Court ruling on both SB 1070 and the president's Affordable Care Act, but the full House is also expected to vote on contempt of Congress charges against Attorney General Eric Holder.

Appearing over the weekend, Rep. Darrel Issa said he expects the results of the pending contempt vote to draw support from both sides of the aisle.

"I believe they will (vote to hold him in contempt)," House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa, R-Calif., told "Fox News Sunday." "Both Republicans and Democrats will vote that -- I believe it will be bipartisan."

Issa was careful not to inject speculation of a White House cover-up, keeping his focus solely on the Department of Justice refusing to turn over subpoenaed documents related to its handling the botched ATF operation Fast and Furious.

Issa said it's possible the vote could be delayed or even "eliminated" if the administration produces the subpoenaed documents the House is seeking.

"But we have to see the documents first," he said.

Barring such a resolution, Issa and his GOP allies are stirring up an election year clash less than five mounts out from the November elections. A fact that some are say is evidence of how serious the Republicans are in getting to the bottom of the gun-walking program responsible for putting thousands of guns in the hands of Mexican drug cartel members, and the deaths of border agent Brian Terry as well as hundreds of Mexican citizens.

On the sidelines, Minority House Democrats are pleading with Republicans take a step back and work out the document dispute without the threat of contempt. At the same time, both sides are antagonizing each other at the dais and in the press over what Democrats claim has become a political "witch hunt."

Rep. Elijah Cummings, R-Md., ranking Democrat on the oversight committee, told "Fox News Sunday" that the confrontation was entirely avoidable.

"I think it's extremely unfortunate," he said. "The attorney general has made it clear that he is willing to work with this Congress."

But that willingness was called into questions when President Obama, in the final hours leading up to the committee vote on contempt charges, asserted executive privilege over documents pertaining to the House investigation. Effectively putting them out of reach of Rep. Issa and his investigators.
