Romney Polling Data Grows Stronger Tuesday night's Presidential debate did little to improve the President's support among likely voters.

New Rasmussen Reports polling of likely voters shows Gov. Romney is widening his lead in some battleground states.

In Missouri, the Republican challenger is leading the president 54% to 43%, widening his lead by 8-points since Oct.2. Romney's lead among likely voters in Florida up 1 pt. since Oct. 11, currently 51% to 46%.

In North Carolina, the Republican challenger is leading Obama 52% to 46%, a 3 point gain since Oct. 9.

Things remain a neck in neck race in the all-important state of Ohio. There the president is holding onto a 1 point advantage, 49% to 48%.

But according to a Fox News poll of Buckeye voters, the president's lead is 46% to 43%. Still, the gaps narrowed significantly from a month ago when the president held a 7 point advantage over Romney.

The president has lost ground among independents (down 10 points from September), women (down eight points) and voters under age 35 (down six points).

Among Ohio voters who are "extremely" interested in the election, Romney is ahead by 10 percentage points (52-42 percent). In addition, by a 12-point margin, Romney supporters (65 percent) are more likely than Obama supporters (53 percent) to say it is "extremely" important their candidate win in November.

The Fox News poll is based on live telephone interviews on landlines and cell phones from October 17 to October 18 among 1,131 randomly-chosen likely voters in Ohio. Likely voters are registered voters who are considered most likely to vote in the November presidential election or have already voted through early/absentee ballot. The poll is conducted under the joint direction of Anderson Robbins Research (D) and Shaw & Company Research (R). For the total sample, it has a margin of sampling error of plus or minus three percentage points.
